Business owner who moved to Midlands feels ready for the future
Create Growth has helped almost 100 businesses
Fully-funded support scheme for creative companies has been extended

William Frank started out designing flyers for nightclub promoters and now works with world famous brands.

Commissioned by companies like Instagram, Channel 4, Aperol Spritz, Sony Music and Adidas on some days and supporting charities like World Habitat and advising local councils on others, his company XYLO Worldwide is a boutique creative and production studio offering branding identity and development, digital and new media services, production, motion graphics and integrated campaigns.

William recently completed Create Growth after looking for opportunities to meet other creatives in Leicester.

“I moved with my family to Leicester from London in 2020 not long before Covid and the lockdown and I’ve been looking to become involved in the local creative scene since then – Create Growth was a great opportunity for me to do that,” he said.

“I’ve met people I wouldn’t have otherwise met. We’re creatives, we’re working in the region and we’re on a similar journey.

“There is so much creative potential in the Midlands.”

William was part of the final cohort of 2024 and used the support on offer as part of the programme to further map out the studios’ future.

“The finance workshop was really good – there was some good stuff in there that we all needed and wanted to know more about.

“Guy, Debra and Steve are all really experienced and have knowledge of the industry as well.

“I’ve got a clearer idea about the long-term strategy now,” he said.

“Just by spending time with others and talking things over with my mentor I was able to think about what comes next.

“I hope to base the business in the area for the long-term, getting plans in place for what’s next is an important part of that.”
